a few days aso, my fren called to tok abt her cousin who was my tutee previously, regarding her O levels posting. She wanted to do biz and go uni eventually and hence, doing biz at MI sounds like a plausible choice since only the top few percent of poly students can enter uni. Two years of JC seems abit tough and tt's one of the reason she wanted a 3 yr course. However, as parents, they prefer the 'play-safe' method of persuading her to go poly and get a diploma instead of going to MI. cos u noe, once u flunk yr As, yr A-level cert is worthless and all tt stuff..

and then she was persuaded by her parents and put accountacy for the top 3 choices in diff polys and den pharmaceutical sci in TP which she ended up in.

She was happy abt her posting, but tt happiness didnt last long and she was caught in a dilemma-whether to pursue her dreams or not to disappoint her parents and choose tt safer path.

and so, we wadsapp-ed for a while and i told her to live for herslf, not for her parents..to pursue her dreams so tt she wont regret. those words can be said easily but her courage to follow her heart despite the whole family going against her, is really admirable. i tink if i were her, i would have given in to my parents' persuasion.

and i wonder, if i become a mum in the future, would i say the same ting to my child?
